At Oakfield we feel very strongly that educating the children in our care is a two-way process between school and home, and we are very proud of the relationship we have with our parents. Throughout the school we advise parents of our curriculum plans on an ongoing basis, and hold two formal parents’ evenings per year, with a comprehensive written report in the summer term.
In the Pre-Preparatory Department we hold regular workshops for parents on how to help children improve reading and numeracy skills, and in the senior school we involve parents closely in post-GCSE options.
Teaching staff are always happy for parents to make appointments to discuss progress, and our Principal welcomes ideas and suggestions from parents on a number of issues. We also publish a weekly newsletter to remind parents of forthcoming events, and keep them informed of pupils’ successes and achievements both in and out of school.
