Every Wednesday afternoon the juniors swim at Woking’s Pool in the Park, grouped according to ability and taught by qualified swimming instructors. There are a further three periods of Physical Education per week comprising games (netball and hockey), gymnastics and ballet. In the summer they play tennis and rounders and practise athletics at school.
The senior girls spend every Friday afternoon at Guildford Spectrum, where they learn to play a variety of team games and take part in more individual sports with fully qualified, specialist sports instructors. Activities range from lacrosse, indoor hockey, tag rugby, football, tennis, badminton and squash, to trampolining and ice-skating. In the summer we use the Spectrum outdoor athletics track for track and field events, including running, hurdling, long jump, high jump, discus, javelin and shot put. At school, the girls play netball in the winter and rounders in the summer. They may also opt for circuit training and tennis.
We compete in matches against other local schools, and some of our pupils go on to compete at county level and nationally.
